The Misadventures of Winnie the Witch is a treasury of eight illustrated stand-alone stories about Winnie for children age five to eight years. Published by Macmillan Children’s Books – £12.99 We were also impressed by the camel’s breathy snort and the giraffe’s chewing. All eight animals the boy is sent have their own noise, but the lion was the stand-out one for us for its throaty growl. In the sound book version, there are also buttons to press to hear the sound the animal makes.

Each time he receives a cage / basket / box, we have to guess what is inside and you can lift a flap to find out. In Dear Zoo, a boy tries to find the perfect pet by writing to the zoo to send him a pet. Ever wondered what sound a camel makes? Or a giraffe? Try out the Dear Zoo sound book to find out.
